KWSG COUNSELS GRADUATING PUPILS ON CAREER PATH
The Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment towards creating enabling environment for students at all levels to achieve their desired goals.
The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Geographic Information Service (Kw-GIS), Dr. Abdulmutalib Shittu, stated this in Ilorin during the week, when the graduating pupils of Saint Joseph Nursery and Primary School came on an excursion visit to the Agency.
Dr. Shittu, who was represented by the Director, Personnel, Finance and Supply/Acting Administrative Secretary, Mrs. Motunrayo Adaran, expressed appreciation to the school Management for choosing Kwara State Geographic Information Service for the excursion.
She added that the agency is a center of learning considering the modern equipment at the disposal of Survey Department, noting that the pupils were at the right place.
In his remarks, the Surveyor General of the State, Surveyor Mohammed Ibrahim commended the pupils and counselled them to take science courses with utmost seriousness because survey profession is science inclined.
Surveyor Ibrahim explained further that survey documents are what authenticate location and ownership of land.
In their separate remarks at the training session, Surveyors Sunday Owolabi and Hameedah Oba-Aluko trained the pupils on the use of modern survey equipment, with a view to showcasing how they are being put to use on site.
The duo charged the pupils to be committed to science subjects, to enable them find it easy to study surveying as a course in any higher institution of their choice.
Earlier, the team lead and Headmistress of Saint Joseph Nursery and Primary School, Reverend Sister Monica Obaro appreciated the Management of Kw-GIS for the warm reception accorded them.
Rev'd. Sister Obaro noted that the choice of the agency was fundamental, in view of issues surrounding land related matters.
