EC, KW-GIS seeks cooperation of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Geographic Information Service, Mallam Abdulmutalib Shittu, as part of his familiarization tours has solicited for the cooperation of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense.
The Chairman made the solicitation today during a courtesy visit with his team to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Headquarters in Ilorin.

said he is in the Command Headquarters to familiarize and further seal the existing cooperation as well as seek synergy with the command. He added that the Agency is now saddled with more tasks than before.
He intimated the Command with the merger of Bureau of Lands; Urban and Regional Planning; Office of Surveyor General and Physical Planning Authority as an Agency known as Kwara State Goegraphic Information Service, (KW-GIS), directly under the Office of the Executive Governor, for transformation and quality service delivery.
Shittu disclosed that the Governor has since commissioned a company to draw a new master plan for the metropolis which is a 20 year plan which its implementation is expected to commence as soon as the consultant submits its reports.
While, appreciating the command for their usual support, he noted that the Agency would need more support and collaboration from the Command.
However, he explained that the Command's request as to the acquisition of Land for its permanent location is getting Government attention.
While responding, the State Commandant, Commandant Iskil Ayirila Makinde said the visit of the Chairman and his team is timely, and well appreciated, adding that the Command is also appealing for maximum cooperation from all Government Agencies. He reiterated that the command would always be in need of relevant information, regarding the true ownership of the land, appealing to the Agency as a matter of urgency be quick in providing information on land related matters on time.
Mr Makinde later requested for further collaboration, especially whenever the Agency is embarking on any enforcement exercise. He therefore, appealed to the Executive Chairman to use his office to fast track the Command request to the State Government for the acquisition of Land for its permanent location.
In the Executive Chairman enturage were Administrative Secretary of the Agency, Mallam Ahmad Idris Danjuma, Director, Lands Services, Emmanuel Ogundipe, State Surveyor General, Surv. Ibrahim Mohammed, General Manager, Physical Planning and Development Control, Tpl Taiye Mohammed, the Agt. DPFS, Mr Adefila Adebayo, and S.A to E.C.
