KWSG Reteirates Commitment on Government Setback


The Kwara State Government has again reiterated its commitment at ensuring that, no building is attached to office environments, with the aim of maintaining government set backs, within and outside the state Capital.

The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Geographic Information Service (KW-GIS, ESV. Abdulkareem Babatunde Sulyman made this known during the week while demolishing illegal structure, on the road setback of the Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, Ilorin, the State Capital.

The Chairman who was represented by the acting Director of Physical Planning Authority and Development Control of the Agency, TPL. Abdulsalam Abdulakeem affirmed that the building was illegal and owned by unknown developer, who thought he could take the office for granted, by erecting such an eyesore on government setback, of the Ministry.

ESV. Sulyman said the unknown developer flouted the extant laws of Physical Planning Authority, hence, he would face appropriate sanctions according to the law.

He warned the public to desist from building on government setbacks, adding that, all government setbacks would be reclaimed for public good.

The Chairman therefore, advised the public, to refrain from building without consulting appropriate government Agency, to avoid its attendant consequences.

Recall that, similar demolition exercise was  carried out of recent, on road setbacks, at Unity Road, in front of the Amusement Park and Kwara State Fire Service Office, Ilorin.
