*Stop harassing Government Officials, Members of Public urged.*

The Kwara State Government has urged members of the public to desist from harassing its officials in the course of carrying out their statutory responsibilities.

The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Geographic Information Service, ESV Abdulkareem Babatunde Sulyman gave this warning yesterday, when the Agency embarked on a routine patrol exercise by its patrol team in Ilorin Metropolis.

According to ESV Sulyman, "no maltreatment of government officials whatsoever would be condoned from any citizen or uniformed personnel because Government is always ready to protect its officials and the general public from internal and external interferences".

The Chairman who was represented by the Director, Physical Planning and Development Control, TPL. Sunday Idowu explained that Physical Planning Authority would first and foremost request for Building Approval at site to ascertain that buildings under construction have building permit or not, in line with extant laws.

He therefore, charged developers and residents to cease from making structures without recourse to Physical Planning Authority and always contact KW-GIS before embarking on any development to avoid unnecessary sanction from the Government.

In his own submission, a lawyer at the Legal Unit of KW-GIS, Barr. Musa Abdulkadir Orire
admonished uniformed personnel and other members of the society not to interrupt the government activities in the State, especially in the area of physical planning and development control, stressing that development is the bedrock of any meaningful society.
