KWSG FLAGS-OFF  COMPENSATION ON LANDS ACQUIRED



The Kwara State Government has flagged up the compensation over the Lands acquisition of 2100ha for extension of the Industrial Park started in late 2023.


The Executive Chairman, Kwara State Geographic Information Service KWGIS ESV. Abdulkareem Babatunde Sulyman, who did flag off today at the Premises of the Agency.


He said, the acquisition of 2100ha for extensions of the industrial park, located off old Ogbomosho road which covers over 15 communities in ASA Local Government Areas of the State and started since  late year 2023.


Sulyman said the land acquired is an addition to the earlier 650Ha acquired for the same purpose,  which development has commenced. 


He commended the State Government under the leadership of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in line with his developmental strides,  has approved the release of over 500milion naira to settle all affected claims, improvement and interest for over one thousand beneficiaries. 



Adding that, this development alone is in fulfilling the legal requirements for public acquisition." government does not buy land rather, compensation is paid in line with constitutional provisions extinguish all subsisting rights on the land acquired."


"Today is a special day to flag off the payment of compensation to the assessed customary land owners, land purchasers, and farmers." While appealing to all the beneficiaries to ensure a judicious use of the money received and in particular, the money should get to all the bonafide beneficiaries. 



On his contributions,  the Director Land Services, ESV Abdulwahab AbdulRahman requesting for community unflinching support and cooperation for the success of the program and development of our state.


The Administrative Secretary,  Mrs. Motunrayo Adaran and the Legal Adviser KW-GIS,  Mrs. Omolara Olubiyi, advised that money received should channel through social development of the community in general. 


Responding on behalf of all beneficiaries, the Emir of Ilorin, Alh. (Dr) ZuluGambari, the Chairman of all traditional Council in Kwara State, represented by Dr. Abubakar Usman Jos, Balogun Alanamu, appreciate His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq questure and commend his wisdom for this initiative. 

"the community concerned were happy because of the development the acquisition will bring in terms of social and job creation to the teaming youth of the area and the likes."

The host community will continue to give his government necessary supports required to succeed. 


On his part,  Alhaji Garba Aremu Galadima  Aare Ogele commends the State Governor Mall. AbdulRahaman Abdulrazaq and the entire management staff of State Geographic Information Service,  for job weldone. While pledging full support of his community for the completion of the Industrial Park.

ISCP: Gov't Engages Affected Communities ahead of Groundbreaking*

In preparation ahead of the Ilorin Smart City Project ground breaking, the Kwara State Government  has continued to engage affected communities, in marathon meetings with different stakeholders in Ilorin South and Ilorin East Local Government Areas for the acquisition of 20,065-hectare of land, for the project.  The Executive Chairman Kwara State Geographic Information System (KW-GIS, Esv Abdulkareem Babatunde Sulyman disclosed this of recent, when he led government team to Akanbi Wards I & II where they met community Leaders, to seek their supports on the massive developmental project.
